November 18, 2024Uganda, has plenty of water bodies where boat cruises can take place. Some of them include Lake Victoria, which is the second largest fresh water body in Africa. The Pearl of Africa also has lakes to include Lake Mburo found in Lake Mburo national park, Lake Edward and George found in Queen Elizabeth national park. More so, there is Lake Bunyonyi one of the deepest Lakes in the world, Lake Kyoga, Lake Mulehe, Lake Wamala to mention but a few.
Uganda is also home to River Nile and it is of course home to the source of this might river Nile that ends in Egypt. There are also Channels and canals along which boat rides are organised.

• Kazinga Channel Boat ride; This Channel is located in Queen Elizabeth national park connecting Lakes George and Edward and this channel is home to a great number of wildlife and birds. This 1 and half hour cruise along the Kazinga channel, can be organaise in the mid morning hours and in the afternoon.
• Boat cruiser Along the Victoria Nile; The scenic boat cruise along the Vicyorial Nile in Murchison falls national park, is often organized in the afternoon. It starts with views of the shores, that are inhabited by a great deal of wildlife and ends with a scnenic view of the might Murchison falls from which the park derives its name.
• Lake Mburo Boat cruise. Obviucouly organized in the afetrnoons, and in lake Mburo national parks, the Boat ride rewards you with widllfie and a beautiful sunset as you retire the busy day in the wildnerness.
• Canoe Ride Lake Bunyonyi: This Boat ride, offere yous an opportunity to visit the different communities that surround this Lake. The ride is impressive as you get to meet the locals and learn more about their livelihoods.
• Nile River Sunset cruise: This is organize in Jinja, close to the source of the River. Watch the sunset on the Might river Nile, as you enjoy drinks and snacks. A great way to end your day whilst in Jinja.
• Nile Delta Cruise: This Popular activity takes place in the early Morning hoursalong the Nile in Murchison Falls National Park. This is a 20km vouyage along the Victoria nile, that takes between 4 to 5 hours taking you deep down in the webtlands to spot the rare shoe bill and other papyrus endemic, breakfast is provided and it has a minimum number requirement.
• Ngamba Island Boat ride: This is a boat ride that takes you to ride along the famous Lake Victoria to go visit some of the islands in the lake. Ngamba island is a chimpanzee sanctuary that is home to a number of orphaned chimpanzees.
