7 Days Kibale, Queen and Bwindi

Overview

The trip offers you an opportunity to not only track the mountain gorillas, but also see other primates like chimpanzees and also view wildlife in the wilderness. The 7 days Kibale, Queen and Bwindi is perfect for those with just 7 days to explore Uganda the pearl of Africa and home of half of the worlds remaining mountain gorillas.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Kibale.

At 8am, you will be picked up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe and the guide will transfer you to the Kibale National park which is 6 hours’ drive away from Kampala. On arrival you will have lunch and then go visit a tea plantation.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking / Nature walk in Bigodi Wetland

At 6am, you will have breakfast, at your hotel and then later transfer to the park headquarters for briefing. After briefing, about the entire trek and what to expect, you will walk and hike along the different trails searching for chimpanzees, Once You meet them, you are allowed to spend 1 hour following them and taking pictures. The trek through the forest as you search for chimpanzee is informative and thus, you not only get to learn about the chimpanzees, but also about the different plants and organisms as your hike through Kibale Rain Forest.

Later in the afternoon you will may go for a nature walk in Bigodi wetland, or you can also add a visit to a local homestead to learn how to prepare a local traditional dish. Return to your hotel after the visit.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. 3hrs

At 8am, we depart Kibale national park to transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. The drive will take you 3 hours arriving in time for lunch. Have lunch and then later you will go visit the Katwe salt mines. Overnight at

Day 4: Game drive / Boat ride.

Before sunrise, you will go for a game drive in the Kasenyi area to search for wildlife. Watch out for animals like lions, elephants, buffaloes, warthogs and so much more. Later in the afternoon, you will go for a boat ride along the Kazinga channel to search for wildlife along the shores. Boat rides offer you an opportunity to see water loving animals like hippos, crocodiles, and also plenty of birds at the shores. Overnight at your lodge.

Day 5: Game drive in Ishasha sector / Transfer to Bwindi.

Start the day early to go search for tree climbing lions, which can only be found in this sector of Queen Elizabeth national park. If you are lucky you might also spot a leopard in this area. Later you will drive to proceed to Bwindi forest national park. Overnight at

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking.

Today you get an opportunity to search for mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Gorilla trekking start at 8am, however you have to be at the briefing point by 7am, in-order to learn which gorilla family your will be tracking. After allocation of the gorilla family, through the forest along the different trails, you will start your hike in search for the mountain gorillas. Once you reach where they were last spotted the previous day, then you start tracking them, on meeting them, you are allowed to spend 1 hour following them and learning more about the behaviors, characteristic and so much more.

Day 7: Transfer from Bwindi to Kampala. 8 to 9 hrs

At 7am, after your breakfast, you will drive to transfer to Bwindi. This is a long drive and therefore you might stop on the way for lunch and snacks. Or you can opt to fly back to Kampala at an extra fee.
