Overview

Kibale national park is known to be the Mecca of Primates, the forest has over 10 different species of primates and is home to one of Man’s closest relatives. The 3 days chimpanzee tracking safari in Uganda, offers you an opportunity to track chimpanzee and learn more about the different conservation efforts involved and also the Kibale forest national park.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: To Fort Portal Kibale. LD

The 3 days Chimpanzee tracking safari, starts with a pick up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe to transfer to Fort-portal. The drive will take you 5 hours arriving in the afternoon. Have lunch and then go visit the tea plantations in the area. For vanilla lovers, you may go visit the vanilla plantation and refinery and then retire at your hotel. Overnight at

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking. / Nature Walk Bigodi. BLD

At 6am, you will have breakfast, at your hotel and then later transfer to the park headquarters for briefing. After briefing, about the entire trek and what to expect, you will walk and hike along the different trails searching for chimpanzees, Once You meet them, you are allowed to spend 1 hour following them and taking pictures. The trek through the forest as you search for chimpanzee is informative and thus, you not only get to learn about the chimpanzees, but also about the different plants and organisms as your hike through Kibale Rain Forest.

Later in the afternoon you will may go for a nature walk in Bigodi wetland, or you can also add a visit to a local homestead to learn how to prepare a local traditional dish. Return to your hotel after the visit.

Day 3: Transfer from Kibale National park back to Kampala. BL

After enjoying the nature walks, and chimpanzee treks, we shall embark on the 5 to 6 hours journey back to Kampala. End of 3 days Chimpanzee tracking Safari in Uganda.
